The deputy Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem, has called for total support for Pastor Umo Eno-led administration in the state and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) till 2031.
Edidem made the call on Saturday when he stopped over to observe the first quarterly Ward Congress of the PDP in ward seven, Itu Local Government Area.
He expressed optimism that Pastor Umo Eno will remain a PDP member irrespective of his closeness to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

According to him, as a Pastor, Umo Eno is peaceful and has a good heart hence his ability to relate peaceably with all, irrespective of party affiliation, adding that the relationship is of immense benefit to the state which is seen as opposition as far as government at the center is concerned.
“There are rumors in some quarters that our governor, Pastor Umo Eno, who is the leader of our party in the state, will soon join the APC because of his closeness with leaders of government at the center but he has told us that he will remain in PDP and will contest election in 2027 under PDP and will win.
“He says as a man of God, who stands for peace and coexistence, he will continue to respect President Tinubu and support his administration to move the country forward.
“The way it is going and considering the number of decampies we received back to the party recently, you will realize very soon that there is no other party in Akwa Ibom apart from PDP,” he stated.
The deputy Speaker echoed the warning of the governor, that no returnee should be tasked but be received warmly into the PDP fold
Recall that over 30,000 persons were recently received into the PDP family from other parties in the state, including leaders of YPP, APC, NNPP, SDP among others.
The PDP ward chairman of Ward seven, Itu LGA, Elder Essien Ekpenyong, who received 80 out of the number into the ward, noted that his duty as the party ward chairman is to do the bidding of the governor and the state party leadership.
