Easter: Show love, forgive, Gov Aiyedatiwa urges Christians

As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has urged the people of the state to use the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ to show more love to one another and preach against hate.

This was contained in his Easter message to the people of the State, signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, who said the governor extended an invitation to all to consider forgiving someone this Easter.

He said, “As you forgive, the Lord will relieve you of anger, resentment, and pain and bring you peace.”

“I greet you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, as we celebrate Easter in commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ, after a glorious self-sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.

“The message of Easter reminds us of the power of divine love, faith, and redemption. Easter also evokes in us the resilience of the human spirit not to give up in the face of seemingly daunting challenges in life.

“I urge you to increase your love for one another rather than hate and show more patriotic commitment to the development of our state.

“Let us remember that the scriptural emphasis on love has so much relevance for us today as a people, more than ever before, and thus contributes towards the peace and development of our state.

“I wish you all a joyful and blessed Easter. Happy celebrations.”

Also, one of the leading aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa, has advised the people of the state to continue to live in peace and show love to one another as Christians the world over observe Easter.

Akinterinwa, in his message signed by the spokesperson of the Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, Segun Ajiboye, charged the people to keep hope for a better and greater Ondo state.

Akinteriwa charged the people to continue to love, trust, and believe the words of God, which enjoined humans to love one another.

He noted that development thrives in a peaceful environment and urged Christians to love one another and to use the opportunity of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pray for the state.

While felicitating with Christians on the successful celebration of this year’s Easter, Akinterinwa assured the Christian community and the entire citizenry of the state that the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu is about to take root in Ondo State.

Akinterinwa said, “Easter, which is celebrated in remembrance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, preaches love and the hope of everlasting life. As believers in the word, we need to continue to have hope and faith in a better and more prosperous Ondo state.

“Soon, the renewed hope agenda of our dear President Bola Tinubu will begin to take root in our dear state, one in which all of us will be proud stakeholders. It is time for rekindled hope in our state, a state where the sun will shine brightly once again.”
