NOA begins mass mobilisation of voters ahead Oyo LG elections

Oyo State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency has embarked on another round of Voters mobilisation and sensitisation for the forthcoming local government election in the state.

Its Head Media and Publicity, Isiaka Adeniyi disclosed this in a statement made available to the newsmen at the weekend.

It was stated that the final round of sensitisation is aimed at mass mobilisation of registered voters to come out enmass on April 27, 2024, to perform their civic rights. It is also targeted at sensitizing the entire Oyo state citizens through different stakeholder forums on peaceful conduct before, during, and after the election.

It is expected that through this campaign Oyo State voters will shun electoral vices such as voter apathy, vote buying, ballot stuffing, multiple votes, violence on election day, and other malpractices.

The overall goal of the exercise is to ensure a transparent and violence-free poll devoid of malpractices thus, conducted in a way that will make it credible and acceptable by all.

The release added that the Agency is working in tandem with OYSIEC to leave no stone unturned to make the election a credible one that will serve as a reference point for other states.

The Agency therefore appeals to all registered voters in the State to come out en masse and perform their civic responsibility on the election day. The Agency reiterates the importance of Local Government election is immense being the closest tier of government to the people.
