The Hajj Institute of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) will, between Thursday and Friday this week, hold its first national stakeholders’ summit on the 2024 Hajj for officials and aviation industry experts at the Musa Yar’Adua International Centre, Abuja.
The summit with the theme: “Partnership, Collaboration and Teamwork; The Tripod of Success for 2024 Hajj operation”, according to NAHCON Deputy Director, Information and Publications, Mousa Ubandawaki, would bring together eminent personalities and discussants to drive home the successful implementation of the 2024 Hajj.
Ubandawaki informed that the two-day event, sponsored by Lotus Bank, was expected to be declared open by Vice President Kashim Shettima, while the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, would deliver a goodwill message.

Others expected at the event include FCT Minister, Barrister Nyeson Wike and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo SAN.
Keynote speakers at the event include Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, in charge of international collaboration, Dr Hassan Manakhra; Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Faisal Ibrahim Al–Ghamidy; Professor Salisu Shehu; Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello; Chairman, House Committee on Hajj Affairs, Hon. Jafaru Mohammed Ali; the Vice Chancellor, Al-istiqama University as well as Sumaila and Kafayat Araoye, Managing Director, Lotus Bank.
Ubandawaki stated that chief executives of state pilgrims welfare boards/commissions/agencies from the 36 states and the FCT, the Armed Forces, private tour operators, Ulamas, medical, media, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), airliners, service providers were expected to participate in the event.
He added that participants are to discuss topics of interest that will propel the Nigerian Hajj industry to greater heights to further improve services that the Nigerian pilgrims would receive during this year’s holy pilgrimage.
