Police operatives from the Nasko Division, Niger State, have apprehended two suspected vandals accused of vandalizing and stealing transformer armoured cables.
In a press statement released to journalists in Minna by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were identified as Jibrin Dahiru, 26 years old, from Mamba village in Magama LGA, and Buhari Umar, 22 years old, from Nasko.
According to the statement, Jibrin Dahiru is believed to be a member of a syndicate responsible for vandalizing cables in various locations including Nasko, Salka, Gwagwade, Tunga-Kade village, and Mamba, all within Magama LGA.
During interrogation, Dahiru allegedly confessed to the crimes and implicated one Ibrahim from Sokoto State, who is currently at large, as his accomplice.

Additionally, Dahiru mentioned Buhari Umar as one of the recipients of the stolen goods.
SP Abiodun stated that other receivers of the stolen cables, identified by the suspect, include Alhaji Bashiru Abdulrahman and Shuiabu, both from Sokoto State, who are currently evading arrest.
SP Abiodun assured that the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for thorough investigation.
Furthermore, the statement advised the public to promptly report any suspected criminal activities to the Police Command’s control room for swift action and response.
