House of Representatives, on Tuesday, adjourned legislative activities to mourn late Hon. Isah Dogonyaro, member representing Babura/Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa.
Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and other lawmakers who attended the session observed a minute silence in honour of the late lawmaker who died at age 46.
Speaking with Parliamentary Correspondents on the late Jigawa lawmaker, Mohammed Shehu (APC-Kano) described the late Hon. Dogonyaro as a vibrant young man with passion for his family, Constituents, Northern Nigeria and Nigeria at large.
“There’s a lot to say about Hon. Isa Dogonyaro, he’s an emblem of a gentleman, one a good Nigerian somebody who has his Constituents first, the North particularly, and Nigeria at heart.
“I think a day before his demise we cracked a joke in the House when he was trying to sign attendance, I tapped him on the back and said ” Long time where have you been? He said ‘We are managing people.’ and that has always been his business.
“Again, we happened to serve in a few of the Committees that we are members. He’s a vibrant young man who has family at heart.
“Looking down on the lane of history, whatever his vibrancy is, you can relate it to what his mother was, may her soul rest in peace too.
“She happened to be an activist for women’s rights especially in northern Nigeria, in education she was a good Philanthropist. Likewise Isah, I know how he has been helping his Constituents in the area of farming, and that has been his passion, goal, and desire.
And he happened to come from rural community which he represented.
“I know his philanthropic work of assisting young ones in farming in the area of finance, it’s something that Isah will never leave out memory because it’s so sudden for somebody you’ve left these few hours and you just received a phone call in the morning that he’s no more.
“It’s sad we only pray that his family has the fortitude to bear the loss.”
