David Moyes has voiced his belief in striker Jarrod Bowen’s capacity to score pivotal goals, following Tottenham captain Heung-min Son’s missed opportunity against Manchester City. As Moyes prepares for his 231st and final match as Hammers boss, he was asked about Bowen’s readiness to handle such high-pressure moments. His response may buoy Arsenal supporters eyeing a potential upset in the title race.
The Scottish manager confidently asserted, “I’d bet on Jarrod, absolutely. If he gets those chances, Jarrod’s got it. So I’m hopeful we can create those opportunities for him to convert.”
Moyes also commended Bowen’s progression since being deployed as a center forward in November, highlighting improvements in finishing, speed, power, and overall performance. He remarked, “He’s thriving on the goals! He’s got a bit of the eye of the tiger in him right now. I hope he maintains that form for us.”
Should West Ham disrupt City’s quest for a fourth consecutive title, it wouldn’t be unfamiliar territory for a Moyes-led team to unsettle title contenders. In the 2011-12 season, Moyes’ Everton engaged in an eight-goal spectacle with Manchester United, altering the course of the title race in favor of Manchester City.

I remember it vividly. Sir Alex was the manager. Let me tell you, he wasn’t too pleased with me in the office afterward. I think he offered me the bargain red wine that day.”
