NLC President lauds Gov Idris’ giant strides in Kebbi

A team of the National Excos of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led by Comrade Joe Ajaero has applauded the infrastructural development in Kebbi under the administration of of one of their own and governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris within his one-year in office.

Ajaero who was interacting with newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi when he led a delegation of NLC national leadership on a fact-finding visit to the state, which coincided with the first year anniversary of the governor, said, “We are really very impressed with what we saw in the state.

“We were here during the electioneering, we were here six months after and we are here now. We are proud to say that we have a thoroughbred trade unionist taking Kebbi to places.

“We are proud to also say that we have a product here and all is moving as planned,” the NLC President averred.

According to Ajaero, although the state receives one of the least allocations from FAAC when juxtaposed with other states receiving higher allocations, the level of development was marvelous and commendable.

The labor leader further said this explained the observed tremendous goodwill of the people of the state towards the governor and his administration.

He said, “We have noted the high level of hospitality and cheers from the people anywhere we go and this shows their acceptability of Dr. Nasir Idris.

“Some Governors don’t even dare to announce their presence or even wind down their glasses while they are in their states and if they do so, they will collect what they never bargained for.”

Ajaero, while extolling the myriad of achievements in the education sector lauded the governor for employing 2,000 qualified teachers, renovation, and construction of schools at all levels to boost education.

The Labour Leader, also among others, said that he had verified the payment of scholarships to students from the state studying across the country and abroad besides providing free education in all public primary and secondary schools.

The NLC President further said that they were impressed with the payment of salaries and pensions in the third week of every month as well as defraying the inherited backlogs of pensions and gratuities.

He also described the State Secretariat Project as”world-class”, while extolling the ongoing revolution in the health sector, security, and all sectors of the economy.

Mr Ajaero called on other state Governors to emulate Gov Idris in view of his leadership style of bringing development to people.
