Edo 2024: Obaseki’s ex-aide, Okoduwa, hails Asue-Ogie ticket

Former Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Human Trafficking, Comrade Solomon Okoduwa, on Thursday said that the choice of the incumbent Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Osarodion Ogie, as the running mate to Asue Ighodalo’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket is a political masterstroke that would guarantee victory for the party.

Okoduwa stated this while speaking with journalists in Benin on Thursday, shortly after he inaugurated a grassroots campaign group with the sole objective of mobilizing support for the Asue/Ogie governorship ticket.

He urged Edo voters to queue behind the PDP candidate and his running mate to sustain the gains made by the Godwin Obaseki-led administration.

The former SSA said that Ogie had over the years demonstrated capacity, love, and passion in uplifting the Edo youth and the downtrodden, adding that his style of politics transcended partisanship and should be emulated.

“Ogie’s fatherly disposition cuts across the board. As a grassroots politician loved across political divides, the PDP will gain overwhelming support among the majority of Edo voters across the three senatorial districts.

“I can recall vividly his efforts and concern in ensuring that all returned migrants in Edo are rehabilitated, and this can be attested to. He is a listening leader, and that is why we are coming out to throw our support behind him,” Okoduwa affirmed.

The youth leader, who also doubles as a human rights activist, admonished all voters, especially the youth, to wisely cast their ballots for the Peoples Democratic Party in their best interest.

“I want to call on all and sundry to rally around the man whose life has inspired many. The man whose antecedents are more than enough to win the state for his party. Ogie is a mentor and father-figure to millions of Edo youth.”
