Zamfara APC to Jaji: Operating one-man political movement won’t succeed

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has warned Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji’s factional leadership that operating as a “one-man army” in any political movement will never succeed.

The Zamfara State APC, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, advised Hon. Aminu Jaji to be cautious in order to avoid a political downfall.

In a statement issued on Sunday by APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris, it was disclosed that there can never be any form of political comparison between Hon. Sani Jaji and those he has chosen to challenge in the political landscape of Zamfara State.

The statement reads in part: “Our attention has been drawn to a release signed by one Mansur Khalifa Kaura, Secretary of Jaji’s support group, attempting to undermine the acceptance and support of the APC and its leaders in Zamfara State.

“As leaders, we did not intend to engage with him, but for the sake of clarity and to set the record straight, we must educate the public on the happenings within the party.”

“Jaji is quickly becoming a liability, overshadowing his modest accomplishments. His political associates, many of whom are there for financial gain, have continued to mislead him by feeding him with lies, making him see every senior politician as either an enemy or inferior.”

“Without mincing words, it was former Governor and now Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar who truly brought Jaji into the political limelight by nominating him as Sole Administrator of Birnin Magaji Local Government Area. He later supported him to become the elected Executive Chairman of the same local government area, which prepared him for his first term in the House of Representatives, all with Yari’s backing.”

“Politically, by the time Jaji was just starting his political journey, Matawalle had already garnered the support of his people and held several senior political offices, including positions in the National Assembly.”

“We want to make it very clear to the Jaji camp in Zamfara State that no matter what they try, they cannot change anyone’s destiny.”

“Let us ask the Jaji group who took the picture they are now denying and shared it on social media. Many of his media supporters circulated the picture with a write-up claiming their leader held a secret meeting with the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement where important issues were discussed. We have the screenshot and the write-up in our possession as well.”

“The claim that Jaji earned the votes that gave victory to President Tinubu in Zamfara last year keeps re-echoing, but he couldn’t specify how many votes led to that victory. Then-Governor Matawalle was the Northwest Tinubu/Shattima Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator, who worked with his team to ensure the party’s success in the zone.”

“Similarly, throughout the Presidential and governorship campaigns in the state, Jaji only attended the ones held in Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas, which make up the federal constituency he now represents in the National Assembly.”

“This indicates that Jaji only used the Presidential Campaign Council to promote his own candidacy and abandoned the campaigns after they worked for him.”

“Now he wants to latch onto a so-called mega party, later claim to be among its founding fathers (if it ever comes to fruition), and then abandon it. That’s the type of person he is.”

“Jaji’s attempt to destroy the APC in Zamfara State by forming a faction at this time will not succeed, as we are prepared to deal decisively with him and his co-travelers.”

“Operating as a ‘one-man army’ in any political movement will never succeed, so he should be careful to avoid a crash landing.”

“The Jaji team is hereby strongly warned to desist from polarizing the APC in the state and the nation by extension, as they are being driven by envy, evil machinations, and ignorance of the party’s constitution, particularly regarding how leaders emerge.”

“Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani remains the substantive, APC and INEC-recognized Zamfara State APC Chairman, having been elected at the party’s state convention with delegates from all 147 wards in the 14 local government areas of the state, under the supervision of a Convention Committee headed by Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim Masari, who was sent from the National Secretariat of the party, as well as other party leaders and stakeholders, including INEC and security agencies,” he maintained
