Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has bid farewell to Sergi Roberto, following the confirmation of Roberto’s departure from Barcelona on Monday.
Roberto, who captained the La Liga club last season, is leaving as a free agent.
Messi shared a message on his Instagram stories:
“All the luck in your new stage. Wishing you the best, Sergi Roberto!”
Roberto, who came up through Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia, eventually earned his place in the first team.
However, 14 years after making his debut, he is now leaving Camp Nou.
Roberto played alongside Messi from 2013 to 2021.
