Niger deputy gov felicitates with Babangida at 83

The deputy Governor of Niger State, Comrade Yakubu Garba, felicitates former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, on his 83rd birthday, celebrating a life of fulfillment.

In a press statement released by the Press Secretary to the Acting Governor, Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta, the Acting Governor described the former Nigerian leader as a bridge builder and the father of modern Nigeria, who played a pivotal role in the construction of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, elevating it to its enviable status as a model city in Africa.

The Acting Governor said IBB is an institution, who transformed Nigeria from its conservative achievements to a more progressive and focused nation, with improved infrastructural development spread across the federation.

He characterized IBB’s approach to development as a well-designed project, viewing governance as a blend of consultative ideas and their concrete institutionalization in the economic, political, and cultural structures, with a strong commitment to the citizenry.

Comrade Yakubu Garba recalled that IBB restructured the economic outlook of the “Giant of Africa,” which eventually led to Nigeria becoming the largest economy in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Acting Governor prayed to Almighty Allah to grant General Babangida good health and strength, wishing him many more fruitful years ahead.
