Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has praised young forward David Ezenwata, describing him as a “good finisher”

Chelsea U18 coach, Hassan Sulaiman, has praised young forward Chizaram Ezenwata after the striker netted two goals in the first half of their 5-2 loss to Brighton in an U18 Premier League match at Cobham on Saturday.

Despite the disappointment of losing the opening match of the season, Sulaiman, who leads Chelsea’s U18 team, highlighted Ezenwata’s performance as a positive takeaway.

Ezenwata, the son of former Gombe United star Ndubuisi Ezenwata, nearly scored a hat-trick, only to be denied by the woodwork.

Sulaiman commended the youngster’s finishing skills and predicted a promising future for him.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Sulaiman said, “He [Ezenwata] is determined, focused, and trains hard every day. It’s no surprise that he got his rewards with those two goals, and I’m sure he will score more over the course of the season. He’s a good finisher, and I’m really pleased for Chizzy. He represents the future and the potential that this young squad has. I am looking forward to seeing the progress throughout the team.”
