Napoli Have Made Official Bid for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, With No Sign of Victor Osimhen

The transfer saga involving Napoli, Victor Osimhen, and Romelu Lukaku has taken a new turn with Napoli’s recent move for the Chelsea forward, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

Napoli’s interest in Romelu Lukaku is well-known, with manager Antonio Conte eager to reunite with the Belgian striker and replicate their past successes. Chelsea, meanwhile, has long admired Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, with former Stamford Bridge stars like Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel advocating for the Nigerian forward’s signing.

Although a potential swap deal between Lukaku and Osimhen was suggested, Napoli’s high valuation of Osimhen has made this exchange nearly impossible. Instead, Napoli has opted for a different approach.

According to LInterista, Napoli has proposed a loan deal for Lukaku worth five million euros, with an obligation to buy him for 25 million euros at the end of the season. This move comes after Napoli’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Verona in their Serie A opener, underscoring their urgent need for a new striker.

Similarly, Chelsea’s less-than-ideal start to the Premier League, following a 2-0 home loss to Manchester City, might drive them to intensify their pursuit of a proven goalscorer, with Osimhen remaining a top target.
