Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has indicated that he could consider a move to Saudi Arabia in the future. The 32-year-old Brazilian was linked with a transfer this summer, with Saudi clubs showing interest.
In an interview with The Times, Alisson revealed he had the opportunity to join a Saudi club but decided to stay in the Premier League for now. However, he acknowledged the appeal of the lucrative offers being made to other players.
Alisson said, “I never reached the stage of discussing wages. It was just interest, but seeing the amounts other players are receiving is tempting. That’s natural.”
According to BBC Sports, Alisson stressed his commitment to fulfilling his contract with Liverpool but left open the possibility of a future move to Saudi Arabia. “I am open to it personally, but not at this moment. Now is not the right time.”
As the transfer window closes, Liverpool is reportedly preparing for Alisson’s potential departure, with 23-year-old Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili lined up as a possible replacement. Additionally, Mohamed Salah, another key Liverpool player, has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
It remains to be seen whether Alisson will move to Saudi Arabia or remain with Liverpool, but the attractive offers from the Middle East are increasingly hard for top players to ignore.
