The Nigeria Premier Football League has boosted match officials’ salaries by 50 percent.
NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye announced the pay increase, aiming to promote fair and credible officiating in the league.
Elegbeleye also mentioned ongoing discussions to arrange air travel for referees and players.
The new season will kick off on Saturday with defending champions Rangers facing EL-Kanemi Warriors.
