Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not require clandestine means to win September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election in Edo State, Olu Martins, Deputy Director General, Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council of the PDP, has said.
Martins stated this through a press statement on Wednesday in Benin City while reacting to the allegations of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship spokesperson, Kassim Afegbua, that the PDP was plotting to rig the election.
He added that “Edo people are intelligent and observant enough to distinguish between a thoroughbred and a wannabe candidate.”
He said that by the allegations of Afegbua, it seems the APC is already developing cold feet for the coming election, adding alleging that the party is known for spreading falsehoods.
He said: ” Asue Ighodalo does not need any introduction to the Nigerian people especially Nigerians who appreciate hard work and ingenuity, attributes that are strange to the APC.
“Dr Asue Ighodalo is the international award winning serial entrepreneur and investment banker who has held sway as chairman of several multinationals and organisations.
“Dr Asue Ighodalo is the candidate of the PDP who has transversed the length and breath of Edo State while espousing the most brilliant and lofty ideas of governance and leadership.
“Dr Asue Ighodalo has been the most intellectually engaging candidate in the race to Osadebey Avenue as his media and live engagements continue to stimulate the minds and consciences of the Edo voting population,” he said
It would be recalled that the APC governorship campaign Organisation spokesman, Prince Kassim Afegbua, had on Tuesday alleged that the state government had perfected plans to rig the incoming election through the use of fake policemen.
