Liverpool Overtake Cash-Strapped Barcelona in Pursuit of Juventus Star

Liverpool could make a signing this transfer window after receiving a positive signal from the player’s camp.

Juventus star Federico Chiesa has reportedly indicated to Liverpool that he is open to an offer from them, as Barcelona hesitates due to their financial difficulties.

According to Pulse Sports, Chiesa has been placed on the transfer list by Juventus following a fallout with former manager Massimiliano Allegri and is eager to leave the club. Although he has been linked with a move to Barcelona, their financial struggles have caused delays.

Barcelona has been considering Chiesa as an option after realizing they could no longer afford Nico Williams. As a result, Chiesa’s representatives offered him to Barcelona, but the club has been slow to make a decision.

While Barcelona deliberates, Liverpool, who have been relatively inactive in the transfer market, have entered the race for Chiesa. Despite his initial interest in joining Barcelona, Chiesa is reportedly open to a move to Liverpool.

As Chiesa and his agents wait for Barcelona’s offer, Liverpool has approached him as they also seek a low-cost forward. With Barcelona only recently sorting out Dani Olmo’s registration, they have been unable to guarantee Chiesa that they can complete his signing.

With Barcelona stalling, Liverpool made their move, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Chiesa is open to joining the Reds. Juventus is reportedly asking for a €15 million fee, which Liverpool, unlike Barcelona, is in a position to meet.
