Attempts to malign Sokoto gov will fail — Aide

The Senior Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto state on New Media, Naseer Bazaar, has said all attempts to malign his boss’s character will fail woefully.

Bazza, in a signed statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday insisted that the governor’s cherished infrastructural and human capital development within just a year of steering the affairs of Sokoto is sending fears into the camp of his oppositions and detractors.

The statement titled, “Addressing Media Misinformation and the Real Story Behind Tambuwal’s Aide’s Arrest”, noted that, “any reasonable person can deduce that there is a deliberate attempt to malign the character of the Governor and this attempt has undoubtedly failed”.

While debunking the narrative that Safiu Umar, an aide to the former governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was detained in the orders of the state governor, honourable Bazza said, “The Sokoto State Government wishes to clarify the circumstances surrounding the recent arrest of former Governor Tambuwal’s aide.

“Contrary to the speculative narratives being spread, the arrest was conducted within the framework of lawful procedures and is connected to specific actions that are currently under investigation.

“While it is understandable that our political opponents are frustrated and desperate in their attempts to undermine and deny the undeniable achievements of the Ahmad Aliyu administration, we must call on the professionals among them to caution individuals within their ranks to adhere to the principles of decorum and good judgement”

Continuing, Bazza said, “‘It is important to emphasize that this situation is being handled with the utmost respect for due process, and all relevant facts will be thoroughly examined by the appropriate authorities. The dissemination of misinformation not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the judicial process.

“The video being circulated does not depict the Governor’s wife spraying cash, nor was it taken at a birthday party. As a tradition, His Excellency Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and his family do not celebrate birthdays. They regard these occasions as periods for reflection and prayer. Therefore, it should have been properly verified before publication.

“We urge the media to exercise caution and professionalism in their reporting. The truth of the matter will be revealed in due course, and we remain committed to transparency throughout this process. It is our firm belief that justice will prevail, free from any undue influence or speculative assertions.

“Any reasonable person can deduce that this is a deliberate attempt to malign the character of the Governor.

” This attempt has undoubtedly failed, as the world has acknowledged the sterling achievements of Governor Ahmed Aliyu in all fields of human endeavor. All efforts by our opponents to undermine him have so far failed and will continue to fail”.
