Edo guber: Okpebholo promises traders interest-free loans

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the September 21, 2024, Edo State governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Thursday pledged to give interest-free loans to traders in the state if elected governor.

Okpebholo also promised to help the traders in building the the traders’ union secretariat on the plot of land donated to them by the late Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa II.

Okpebholo made the promises on Cook Road, Benin City, while on campaign tour to traders of New Building Materials Sellers Association, Cook Road Benin City.

“Any money invested on you traders will not lost. So, I will fulfill my promise immediately I enter as a governor .I am coming to work for Edo people and not to steal their money, vote APC on September 21, and freedom will come your way,” he said.

Earlier, the Director General of the All Progressive Congress(APC) Campaign Council, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, told the people that he brought the party candidate to talk to them on what he wanted to do and also hear their demands.

Addressing the campaign team earlier, the President of the association, Nonso Ibeh, said Senator Urhoghide had been their person, stating that he came to them twice for his election and he won, assuring that Okpebholo’s case would not be different.

He said, “We pray that when you are elected you will help us to build our secretariat which we have been given a parcel of land by the late Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa II.”

Speaking to people in Idumu Ewase community in Isihuhe Street, off Mission Road, Benin City , Okpebholo told them not to vote for PDP as the candidate would behave like his master, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

“Vote for APC in the September 21st governorship election and I will make sure I provide dividends of democracy,” he assured.
