Bauchi Works Ministry takes over Yankari Transport Corporation

Bauchi State Ministry of Works and Transport has officially taken over the affairs of the Yankari Transport Corporation from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The development was in compliance with the decision of the Bauchi State Executive Council (SEC) for the merger of all Agencies with their relevant Ministries.

The taking-over ceremony was held on Thursday, 29th August 2024 at the office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Bauchi.

Receiving a taking over document on behalf of the Ministry of Works, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Mohammed Hamisu Garba noted that a decision to place a square peg in a square hole by Governor Bala Abdulkadir’s administration was in the best interest of the State.

Mohammed Hamisu reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Works to fostering synergy and progress in the Bauchi Yankari Transport Corporation.

He stressed that his doors were wide open to everyone for ideas to sustain smooth running of the corporation and achieve desired goals.

Earlier, in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Alh. Yakubu Bello described a merging of Yankari Transport with the Ministry of Works as a welcomed development.

He therefore pleaded with the staff of Yankari Transport Corporation to extend the same hands of fellowship to the Ministry of Works for rebuilding the corporation as contained in a statement by Muhammad Sani Yunusa, Information Officer.
