EPL: “You Don’t Buy a Player for £80m and Send Him on Loan” – Klopp Criticizes Ten Hag

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has criticized Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag for his handling of Jadon Sancho. Sancho joined Chelsea on a season-long loan this summer, with an obligation for the Blues to buy him next year.

The England winger had spent part of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after falling out with Ten Hag but was later reintegrated into the first team. However, a last-minute move to Chelsea appears to have marked the end of his time at Old Trafford.

Klopp believes Ten Hag should have shown more support for Sancho before deciding to offload him. He commented, “If the whole world loses trust in a player, the manager should be the one to stand behind him. I can’t just buy into the idea that ‘he’s useless,’ like some clubs did—spending £80 million on a player and then sending him out on loan!”
