EPL: Di Maria reveals Manchester United coach was the worst he’s ever had

Argentina winger Ángel Di María has described former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal as the worst coach he has ever worked with.

The 36-year-old, who has played for Rosario Central, Benfica, Real Madrid, United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus, enjoyed success at most of his clubs. However, his stint at Manchester United was challenging, with Di María managing only four goals in 32 appearances during the 2014/2015 season.

Di María now attributes his difficult period at United to Van Gaal, who managed the club from July 2014 to May 2016. In his Netflix documentary ‘Breaking Down the Wall,’ while holding a replica of the World Cup trophy, Di María said:

“Louis van Gaal is the worst coach I’ve ever had, and I will never tire of saying it. We beat them on penalties despite his claims that we wouldn’t, because he thought he knew everything. In the end, he had to eat his words.”
