Pep Guardiola has stated that he agrees with Javier Tebas, suggesting that Premier League rivals are eager to see Manchester City face punishment.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has agreed with LaLiga president Javier Tebas, acknowledging that Premier League clubs want to see City sanctioned.

Earlier this week, Tebas revealed that he had spoken to “many Premier League clubs” regarding the charges against Manchester City and stated that “most of them believe City should be sanctioned.”

City are set to face a hearing on the 115 charges starting Monday.

“Maybe he’s right,” Guardiola said about Tebas’ comments. “It’s certain that all the Premier League teams want us to be sanctioned. For the first time, I agree with Tebas, and hopefully the last.

“That’s why I say to Mr. Tebas and the Premier League teams: wait for the independent panel.”
