Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admitted his team was fortunate in their 2-1 comeback win over Brentford on Saturday.
Brentford took the lead within 25 seconds through Yoane Wissa, but Erling Haaland responded with a first-half brace, securing three points for the Premier League champions.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola acknowledged his team’s struggles:
“We were lucky with the deflection because they deserved to be 1-0 up. We had a hard time reading when to shoot and press. We were fortunate to find the goals, but in the second half, we were better and probably deserved more.
“This game reminded us how difficult everything is and how tough the Premier League can be every match.”
