EPL: Why Liverpool Lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest – Arne Slot

Liverpool boss Arne Slot admitted that poor decision-making and execution contributed to their 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest.

After winning their first three Premier League matches under Slot, Liverpool aimed to maintain their perfect start at Anfield. However, a second-half goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi shocked the home crowd.

Speaking after the match, Slot said:

“It was a stop-start game, and we hardly created any chances. We only have to look at ourselves—we need to be better.

“Far too often, we lost the ball near the area, and that wasn’t good enough. We need to improve with the ball.

“Our decision-making and execution weren’t up to par. Defensively, we did quite well overall, but the two fast players coming on made things difficult. We took a lot of risks, and ultimately, it was a very good goal.”
