Coalition holds rally for Tinubu in Rivers

Coalition For Renewed Hope Family in Rivers, a non-partisan political platform has held a 7-kilometer road rally in Port Harcourt in solidarity with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu.

The rally which began at  Port Harcourt Polo Club in GRA, in the early hours of Tuesday, culminated at the Port Harcourt Club with thousands of people,  predominantly youths from across the 23 local government areas participating.

Addressing the mammoth crowd in front of the Port Harcourt Club, Chief Okocha, leader of the coalition and the Representative of Rivers of the Niger Delta Development Commission, clarified that the rally was a gesture of their unflinching support for President Bola Tinubu, the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike and the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio.

Okocha for the umpteenth time used the opportunity to accuse the state Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara of secretly masterminding the #Endbadgovernance protest in the state to spite the President, following his hatred for him.

He said, “This is what we call protest or whatever you call it. We are marching for Mr President.  We want to clean the rot that was typical of August 1 to August 10.

“We imagine that in Rivers State, you all know, you are from here, Rivers State has never been an epicentre for any protest or demonstration.  I was very active in the #EndSars protest. Did you see that protest in Rivers State being as profuse and excruciating as what you saw?

“So there must be a reason, and that reason is the fact that the man who funded, sponsored, and held midnight meetings with youths is the only person who benefited from the 10 days of inactivities in Nigeria, particularly in Rivers State.

“On the first day that youths gathered, the Governor had the presence of mind to take the rostrum to tell the youths that he will pass their message to Mr President assuming and absolving himself from the accusations.

Okocha, whose APC Caretaker Committee was on Monday sacked by a Rivers State High Court alleged that the governor’s action was clear proof of his hatred for Tinubu even though he claimed he supported him.

Okocha stressed; “I am sure you all saw him when he said he would give them something for pure water and bread when other governors in other states are circumspect and busy with all strata of people in their states to tackle the protest, our own Governor moves freely to commission projects or attend a burial of somebody’s mother in Khana, didn’t you see that?

“And whilst he was moving, he drove deliberately through the crowd, the people that he mobilized to protest against Tinubu and he wants to tell the world that he is a supporter of Tinubu. It is a fat lie, he hates President Tinubu. This is the Tinubu family in Rivers and it is under the leadership of Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”

Also speaking earlier, a former Commissioner of Housing in the state, Dr Gift Worlu, said Nigeria before the emergence of President Tinubu was moving in the wrong direction at a very high speed, adding that the president was working round the clock to fix an economy that had already gone bad.

The Commissioner, one of those who resigned from Governor Fubara’s cabinet, urged the people to pray for the president to deliver Nigeria and thanked the president for making very hard but right decision to right the wrongs in the country.
