Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has been stripped of his No. 7 shirt. According to Sky Sports, the number has been reassigned to new signing Pedro Neto for the upcoming season.
This decision comes as Chelsea appears open to listening to offers for Sterling. After moving from Manchester City two years ago, Sterling initially wore the No. 17 shirt before switching to No. 7 last season.
Pedro Neto, who made his debut against Manchester City on Sunday, previously wore the No. 19 shirt.
In addition, new signing Joao Felix will wear the No. 14 shirt, which was previously worn by Trevoh Chalobah. Chalobah has been informed that he is not part of head coach Enzo Maresca’s plans for next season.
Felix wore the No. 14 shirt during his loan spell at Barcelona last season and previously wore the No. 11 shirt during his initial loan at Chelsea 18 months ago.
