Supreme Court: Kogi govt condemns attack on SDP’s Ajaka

Kogi State Government has condemned in the strongest of terms, the unwarranted attack on Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka at the Supreme Court, moments after the determination of the electoral litigations involving the Governors of  Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa.

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in last year’s Kogi Governorship election was allegedly attacked after the Supreme Court judgment in Abuja by some hoodlums.

In a press statement issued on Sunday by the Hono. Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo described the conduct of the hoodlums as barbaric, uncivilised, and a grave danger to the institution of justice.

He urged Nigerians from all walks of life to eschew resort to self-help.

“As a Government, we implore the law enforcement agencies to fish out the perpetrators and make them face the full wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to others as well as protect the integrity and safety of our court environments across the country.

“We urge all Nigerians to support the path of constitutionalism and unity, which are the core values of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. We all must support his lofty policies and values for the progress and development of our dear nation.”
