OPC @ 30: South-West govs, Ooni, others to storm Lagos, today

All the six South West Governors, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and other prominent personalities are expected to attend the 30th anniversary of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) scheduled to hold today, Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Lagos.

Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, who is the Chief Host at the event, made this known in a statement, copy of which was made available to newsmen, saying that the foremost monarch, Ooni is the Royal Father of the Day, former Governor Daniel is the Chairman of the Day, while Prof. Olufemi Otubanjo is the Guest Speaker at the event, which would hold at the 10 Degrees Events Centre Oregun, Ikeja Lagos.

The Yoruba generalissimo said all arrangements had been concluded for the event, describing the anniversary as a major milestone in the history of the OPC.

Speaking on the book titled: “OPC: The Journey So Far,” which will be presented to the public as part of the day’s event, he noted that the trajectory of the Yoruba socio-cultural organization is morphed into different success stories that needed to be told.

According to him, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso is the reviewer of the book.

It would be recalled that OPC, on Tuesday made a remarkable impact in Yoruba land when it commissioned the Oodua House, a one billion naira Legacy Project located at 14b, Ezekiel Street, off Toyin Street Ikeja Lagos.
