LaLiga: Ancelotti Praises Real Madrid Star for Selflessness

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised Vinicius Junior for his selflessness after the Brazilian, who is typically the team’s primary penalty taker, allowed Kylian Mbappe to take a penalty against Real Betis on Sunday night.

Mbappe’s two goals helped secure a 2-0 victory for Ancelotti’s side at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In his post-match press conference, Ancelotti highlighted Vinicius’s unselfishness and noted that Vinicius, Mbappe, and Rodrygo share a strong on-field rapport.

“Mbappe was never pressured to score; he played well, and his performance in the box was impressive,” Ancelotti said. “Vini Jr. was very unselfish by allowing Mbappe to take the penalty. All three—Vini, Mbappe, and Rodrygo—have a good relationship.”

He continued, “While scoring is important for Mbappe, our focus is on evaluating the team’s overall performance, which was an improvement from the previous game.”
