Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has urged the club to do everything possible to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
Petit praised the Spain international, calling him an incredible player and expressing his desire for Arsenal to secure his services.
During the 2024 summer transfer window, several top European clubs, including Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich, were reportedly interested in signing Williams. However, the 22-year-old chose to stay at Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona is said to have reignited their interest in Williams and may even offer him the No. 10 jersey if he joins them next summer.
Petit, however, is hopeful that Arsenal can win the race for Williams. Speaking to Prime Casino, he said, “One player that Arsenal should go all out for is Nico Williams. It would be a dream signing for Mikel Arteta. He is an amazing player and will be wanted by many clubs. I hope he ends up at Arsenal.”
