The Federal Government has distributed over fifteen grading engines to farmers to boost their livelihoods in the three senatorial districts of Kogi State.
The presentation of the empowerment was done through the Kogi State Agricultural Development Project by the representative of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in the Department of Rural Development, Alhaji Halilu Biringina Kulani, in Lokoja.
The beneficiaries of the agricultural input were drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state.
Presenting the grading machines to the beneficiaries on Tuesday, the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture from Abuja, Alhaji Halilu Biringina Kolani, said the present administration under President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Agriculture would continue to live up to expectations by providing necessary agricultural input to farmers to boost agriculture production.
Alhaji Halilu Biringina Kolani urged the beneficiaries of the grading machines to put them to proper use to enable the government to do more for the citizens.
He reiterated the commitment of the federal government to providing food sufficient to make lives more meaningful for the people in the country.
In a remark, the Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Project, Mr. Bello Ogirima, advised the beneficiaries to protect the machines from vandals, as they were given to them by the Federal Government.
Mr Ogirima said the government at both the state and federal levels would not leave any stone unturned to continue to encourage farmers to boost food production in the state and commended Governor Yahaya Bello for ensuring food security, especially in the production of rice, cassava, yams, and cashew, among others, in the various areas of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Madam Awal Abdulkadir thanked the state and federal governments for empowering farmers and promised to utilise the machines for the purpose intended to improve their livelihood.
