Popular Blogger and actor Mjay has taken to his social media page to defend his friend Toyin Abraham after she was drag by fans for being happy that Funke Akindele lost all her nomination.
He wrote: Few weeks ago, I saw A Tribe Called Judah. This makes it second time after cinemas runs.
I was so impressed with the quality of work Funke Akindele put into it that I had to call her. After the call I left a message again to say it was one of the best films ever made in Nigeria (Argue with yourself if you doubt it).
I was rooting for ATCJ to win at least one award. Those close to me or Toyin would have heard her complained that Tobi Makinde didn’t get a nomination.
And I felt Funke should have gotten a mention for such feat she pulled at the box office earlier this year. AMVCA erred on that, for breaking such a record and she did that for the whole industry, any form of recognition at an industry event wouldn’t have been bad.
But AMVCA is AMVCA, an award organization that did not think Kemi Adetiba deserves plaque for KOB or Femi Adebayo nomination for a fine performance in Jagun-Jagun or Yvonne Jegede, a nomination for supporting role in Adire. So, what can we do?
However, some people’s only joy comes from turning yesterday’s event to point of rivalry or enmity between Toyin and Funke. Their only achievement is adding negat!ve narrative to everything positive. Congratulations you are now on Instablog!
Yesterday when Toyin started congratulating people regarding the AMVCA, I knew mischief makers would misconstrue her post and try to twist the narrative, especially blogs run by ‘blocked’ he@ds. I asked her to delete her post to AMVCA and modify the message to Femi Adebayo because many people here will misconstrue them.
How is congratulatory message to head of Africa Magic now h8te speech? Is she the only person that congratulated Africa Magic? Are others sh@ding Funke too? We need to stop with the idea that there must be enmity before progress.
For those whose goal and lifetime target is to keep steering the narrative of rivalry and enm!ty between Toyin and Funke,I hope such goal will be the epitaphs written on your tomb when God finally decide to call time on your miser@ble life.
